I love what I do for a living. I lose track of time, often forget to eat, and have to force myself to stop & sleep. I enjoy the freedom to choose when and where I work. I get to travel, meet amazing people, with no time clock to punch, no supervisor to please.
Typical airplane small talk: you traveling on “Business or pleasure?” Yes/Yes. You see, my Business IS my Pleasure. Love it. Sadly, most are surprised at my answer. Recent response: it was the first time the guy in the window seat had actually met someone who loves their job. Rare.
Why this story? Life is short and we actually have options. Do what you LOVE. What comes easily and flows naturally, what you do when you are ON, “in the zone”
It hasn't always been like this.
For some crazy reason in college I decided to study science and math, earning a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Work in Clinical laboratory, analyzing body fluids, calibrating sophisticated equipment. I did not love my job. Although,I had an ideal shift where I worked one week on and one week off, 7 10hour night shifts which was very cool for a single woman who loves to travel. I was a responsible, professional employee earning a respectable wage and was, as Stephen Covey says, a “Highly Effective person”, but I was not thriving in my career.
Monumental day in my life: recruited by a nearby college to teach Hematology for a prof on sabbatical. “Hematology” study of blood, my favorite department. I gladly accepted the offer and that decision was a landmark in my life. What was the big deal? Most people know of Stephen Covey’s best selling book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. In his other book The 8th Habit, Covey writes about moving from Effectiveness into Greatness. Finding our VOICE, our unique personal significance, and inspiring others to find theirs. That's why we're here, isn't it?
While I was an effective employee in the lab, I did not experience my own Greatness until I found my Voice. How do you know? You really do lose track of time, forget to eat and sleep.
Imagine: work night shift, off at 7am, ate, shower, power nap, drove 30 miles-- taught lectures/labs all day, 30 mile drive home, a quick nap. start night shift again at 9pm. I loved it. I loved teaching. I discovered my VOICE, my unique personal significance. I do NOT remember the weariness, long hours, challenges, nor do I remember how much money I earned. Just the thrill-- sharing my knowledge and inspiring them to a new awareness. Eg. to discover how blood is made, what red and white blood cells look like, various diseases of the blood. I got to connect, educate, and inspire.
Fast forward 3 decades, teaching dozens of topics, classes, curricula, continuing ed classes for insurance professionals and medical professionals, I do this through the medium of Essential Oils and other vibrational tools and technologies. If a person is not living in wellness, if they are living in a chemical soup of toxins, trudging through their days in a medicated fog, or emotional imbalance, stressed out, exhausted, or hiding behind 50 pounds of unwanted body fat, or some other compromised state they might be surviving, but probably not Thriving.
That was me 15 years ago when a series of horse-related injuries left me facing spinal surgery or drugs for the pain. Those were my options according to the many medical specialists that I consulted. My life looked bleak: pain meds, no energy, spending hours on the couch in an antidepressant-induced stupor, becoming more overweight and lethargic without purpose, going through the motions day after day.
I was ready to find real answers.
I am so grateful for the day in my journey when my path crossed with someone who offered possibilities. I was introduced to plant-based natural vibrational tools and technologies and I chose to open my mind. I discovered real answers and I've never looked back. Now a decade and a half has passed-- I hardly recognize myself. Yes, my spine suffered serious injuries yet I am able to live a pain-free, high energy, active, vibrant, fun life. Every body is different, for sure. All I know is, I feel amazing and am often told I look better now than I did then, in spite of the years. Abundant living, naturally. That's my business, AND its my pleasure to pay it forward to others.
Living on a small ranch in Bend, Oregon with my husband Scott, where we raised and homeschooled our son and 3 daughters, the Maricles have always been an entrepreneurial family. We worked hard. Knowing what it takes to build successful businesses, I had no desire to start yet another. However, through my passion for sharing oils, telling my story, and teaching classes, my business grew over time to generate an income that offers flexibility, fun, freedom. Plus, I genuinely find fulfillment and purpose in positively impacting the people in our life.
So my work is to empower others to achieve greater levels of Wellness, and for some who, inspired by passion, share their own story of healing, and thus achieving financial wellness, living in Abundance. As a business leader, wife, mom, and heart-centered woman, I love the freedom, joy, and satisfaction my life affords me. And I'm happy to open the way for you to optimize your life, too.
